Hubert Crawford was known as Hubert, Chief, and Colonel. He asked me to call him Hubert and our daughters called him Granddaddy.
He
was 86 years old when he died. He was my father-in-law. My wife and I and our two girls spent many happy hours with him and
his wife Helen (my wife's mother) between the time we moved back to Cookeville in 1966 and the time he died in 1986. It is
those happy memories that motivate me to document the life and times of Colonel William Hubert Crawford in this web site.
