The three grave markers below are for the three children of Joseph and Anna Sutter who died at very young ages.  Unfortunately such early deaths were all too common at that time in the history of the United States.

This is the front of the Old store which was built in 1887.  Bob Sutter says our grandparents most likely did some shopping there.

This is the back of the Old Store.

The store on the left is Hering's store.  It was built in 1914 and is still open as a restaurant on a small scale.

The Catholic Church of the Visitation was completed in 1895 and is still one of the largest wooden churches in the state of Texas.  As you can see, it is a beautiful church and is wonderfully maintained.

Betty Ann Sutter's grave.  She was the daughter of Anna and Joseph's son Henry and a sister of Robert (Bob) Raymond Sutter who took all the pictures on this page.  The newspaper story below describes the accident that resulted in her death.
